Newborn

New, sleepy, cuddly, adorable babies with squishy cheeks. What is not to love about Newborn Sessions?

One of the things I love about photography, is how much its evolved in even the decade. When my oldest was born over 15 years ago, posing babies with cute little wraps & tiebacks and themed sets was NOT something that was really captured by many photographers. I wish it was... I would have loved to capture his wee baby self that way. But after having a few newborns again, in the last 5 years, I have a new outlook and love for these sessions. They are a fantastic way to have an adorable little keepsake of your new bundle of joy.

Since I have children of my own and have done MANY newborn sessions, I am extremely professional and patient with these. I demonstrate extreme care in handling and posing baby, and have a realistic understanding of the time and effort these sessions take. I have many outfits, wraps, and set options to choose from and my collection of these keep growing and growing as time goes on.

Newborns are best photographed in the first 10 days after they are born. This allows for me to capture the baby's "newness", and they cooperate much better, as they are still quite sleepy. Newborn sessions are very time consuming (2.5 - 4.5 hours typically) as little ones are unpredictable, and require time for feeding, settling, posing, changing, etc.

These sessions are typically done in my client's home. I bring my set to you! My clients love this option, because it allows them to deal with baby, during the shoot, in the comfort of their own home. I can do a studio setup for those that would prefer it. Please inquire for further details or for package options.

A few things to note:

* I am very patient with these sessions, as babies are very unpredictable. That being said, I prefer that parents allow me to deal with baby to calm them, and transition them into poses.

* When you book a newborn session, the date is, of course, a tentative one, as due dates don't necessarily mean baby will arrive on time.
